Parenting Class Information

PARENTING CLASSES

If your case involves children, the courts require that you take a parenting class and file a Certificate of Completion with the court.  Some courts require that this class be completed prior to any hearing or entry of Temporary Orders.  Some courts will not finalize your case until the parenting class is completed and the certificate is on file.  Some courts will refuse to enter any order that gives a non-compliant parent any access to the children unless and until this requirement is met.  Still others will not enforce any possession orders if the complaining parent has not fulfilled this requirement.  Therefore, it is extremely important that you comply with this requirement as soon as possible.  The requirement to attend and complete a parenting class can generally be found in the local rules of each county.

TIP #1

WE STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLETING THE COURT ORDERED PARENTING CLASSES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Parenting Classes Resource List

To aid our clients or members of the community visiting our website we provide this list of courses containing seminars/classes that have been previously accepted by the courts.  Some of the seminars are taught in a classroom setting in which you attend in person.  Other courses are online offerings that may be more convenient for those with a busy schedule or those who have difficulty obtaining child care.  Children are generally NOT allowed to attend with you at most parenting seminars.  While both you and your spouse will be required to complete a parenting class, you are not required to attend the same class or use the same provider as your spouse.

TIP #2

WHILE WE PROVIDE THIS LIST FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, WE MAKE NO PROMISE THAT ALL COURSES LISTED ARE ACCEPTED BY EVERY COURT. ONCE YOU IDENTIFY A COURSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO CONFIRM WITH YOUR COURT THAT YOUR COURSE CHOICE IS ACCEPTED BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE PRIOR TO REGISTERING.

We strive to update this page once every six months, however, be aware that individual providers may change course details without our knowledge.  It is your obligation to read seminar advertising carefully to ensure that you have selected a course that is right for your situation.
